Security Manager
The Security Manager is responsible for the safety and security of guests, clients, and team members of the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC). Additionally, The Security Manager assists the Vice President of Security in maintaining strong public, client, business, and community relationships by participating in meetings, conferences, planning sessions, site visits, and special events. This role serves as a key stakeholder throughout the event lifecycle and provides leadership for major activities and events occurring on Los Angeles Convention Center property to ensure safety, security, operational excellence, and world-class customer service.
Essential duties and responsibilities include determining all components of appropriate staffing levels for events, managing high-profile site visits, overseeing post-show notes and event recap documentation, ensuring contractors are compliant with certificate of insurance records, ensuring operational readiness for conventions, trade shows, entertainment events, VIP visits, and special events, administering event emergency guidelines, procedures and training for team members, and attending monthly campus meetings and liaison between local Law Enforcement.
Required qualifications include possessing and maintaining a valid CA/BSIS Guard Card, overseeing workflow and taking proactive action to ensure the Security Department's performance goals, representing ASM Global and LACC in an exemplary manner, communicating effectively both verbally and in writing, exhibiting leadership qualities, motivating/engaging team members & leading by example, collaborating and resolving conflicts with others, multitasking and demonstrating sound judgment in stressful, highly active situations, creating, implementing, and presenting training materials and programs for all LACC team members, proficient in Microsoft Office applications, having reliable transportation, and required variable work schedules such as late hours, early mornings, extended hours, holidays, and weekends.
Education and/or experience include a minimum education of a High School Diploma or equivalent, work-related experience: 5 years; minimum 3 years in a supervisor/management role, and minimum: 1 year staffing/planning experience in a sports venue, entertainment, or convention facility.
