The UCLA Police Department is seeking an analytical, detail-oriented Crime and Intelligence Analyst to serve as a key partner to our law enforcement team. Working directly with the Investigations Lieutenant and Detective Sergeant, you will perform intelligence and statistical analysis to detect emerging crime patterns, build predictive probability models, map criminal activity, and synthesize raw data from regional databases.

Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. • 3-5 years Experience in crime analysis, intelligence analysis, or quantitative research analysis within a law enforcement, criminal justice, or work in a college public safety environment. (Required) And
• Degree Bachelor's degree in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Statistics, Data Analytics, GIS, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (Required)
• Ability to provide crime analysis for a university law enforcement agency servicing a diverse population. (Required)
• Working knowledge of statistical research methods and practical application of probability theory to predict crime patterns. (Required)
• Working knowledge of crime analysis principles, functions, tools, methods, and sources of information. (Required)
• Demonstrated working knowledge of computer relational database programs for data storage and report generation, including skill in organizing, manipulating, and retrieving data from manual and electronic files to relate information patterns. (Required)
• Demonstrated skill in analyzing information, problems, or procedures to define objectives, identify relevant factors/patterns, and formulate logical, objective conclusions. (Required)
• Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills to interpret law enforcement documents, write concise reports with statistical graphics, present findings, and build cooperative working relationships across all levels. (Required)
