Purpose

The Building Maintenance Technician II position, under limited supervision, performs with high-level competency in at least one of the following fields:
Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Carpentry. This position is called upon to plan, troubleshoot, repair, and install new within his field of experience.

Responsibilities
  • Perform high-level maintenance and repairs on building interior and exterior.
  • Contact and schedule vendors and contractors for necessary building repairs and emergencies outside the scope of routine maintenance.
  • Identify and create materials list and general planning required to complete job assignments.
  • Troubleshoot problems and issues within their field of experience.
  • Work in a safe manner and recognize unsafe situations. Take appropriate action to ensure safety of themselves and others in building.
  • Responsible for the completion and accuracy of documentation related to assigned tasks.
  • May be assigned tasks outside the scope of this job description.
Requirements
  • Maintains awareness and understanding of documents published in the BMS Library.
  • High school diploma/GED, with minimum 5 years’ experience in Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry or HVAC maintenance field or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to read part manuals, electrical and mechanical schematics, assembly instructions and troubleshooting guides.
  • Familiarity with industrial manufacturing buildings and systems.
  • Demonstrated high degree of industrial mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and craftsman aptitude and repair abilities.
  • Frequently lifts and/or move items over 35 pounds.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work unsupervised.
  • Advanced reading, writing and math skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a group (Team) environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; must be able to speak/read/write English.
  • Must be willing to have flexible work hours.
  • Must be able to work Monday - Friday 3:00 PM PST - 11:30 PM PST.
  • Full knowledge, understanding and ability to perform the duties of Building Maintenance Tech I.
