Description

We are looking to hire a full‑time service boiler technician with experience on domestic and heating boilers.

Responsibilities
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
  • Ability to read mechanical, electrical, and piping diagrams and schematics.
  • Experience with combustion analysis equipment.
  • Knowledge of hydronic systems and domestic hot water systems.
  • Familiarity with boiler controls and BAS integration.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and prioritize multiple service calls.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift equipment and work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and confined spaces when required.

Boiler Operation & Maintenance

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on commercial and industrial boiler equipment and associated systems.
  • Maintain low-pressure boilers, high-pressure boilers, power boilers, and domestic hot water heating systems.
  • Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and service gas‑fired and hydronic heating systems.
  • Perform scheduled boiler inspections and ensure systems operate safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor boiler operation, temperatures, pressures, combustion performance, and system controls.
  • Facilitate periodic boiler cleaning and heat exchanger maintenance.
  • Test boiler water for corrosive deposits and chemical balance; treat water as required to prevent scaling and corrosion.
  • Inspect burners, combustion chambers, refractory, venting systems, and heat exchangers.
  • Clean burners, pilot assemblies, igniters, flame sensors, and combustion components.
  • Flush domestic hot water storage tanks and boiler systems as required.
  • Inspect and clean condensate drains and neutralizers.
  • Inspect insulation and piping for leaks or damage.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, gas, plumbing, and control system failures.
  • Troubleshoot no-heat, no domestic hot water, lockout, flame failure, pump failure, low-pressure, high-temperature, and control issues.
  • Replace defective valves, gas valves, mixing valves, expansion tanks, pressure reducing valves, backflow prev enters, flow switches, pressure switches, sensors, relays, filters, steam gauges, relief valves, and actuators.
  • Replace blower motors, combustion blowers, pumps, motors, bearings, igniters, flame rods, control boards, and ignition components.
  • Repair domestic hot water recirculation systems and hydronic heating systems.
  • Repair leaking piping, fittings, heat exchangers, and associated mechanical equipment.
  • Purge air from hydronic systems and balance heating loops.
  • Troubleshoot 24V, 120V, and 480V electrical systems.
  • Program and configure boiler controllers and building automation interfaces.
  • Verify sensor calibration and proper operation of safety devices.
  • Troubleshoot relay boards, VFD-controlled pumps, and boiler management systems.
  • Perform electrical wiring repairs according to manufacturer specifications.

Combustion & Gas

  • Perform combustion analysis and adjust burners for peak efficiency.
  • Verify proper ignition sequence and flame safeguard operation.
  • Adjust manifold gas pressure and air‑to‑fuel ratios.
  • Inspect gas piping and perform leak testing.
  • Verify venting and combustion air requirements.
  • Install commercial boilers, domestic water heaters, storage tanks, pumps, controls, gas piping, expansion tanks, venting systems, and associated equipment.
  • Perform startup, commissioning, and operational testing of new installations.
  • Verify system performance after repairs and installations.

Safety & Compliance

  • Monitor boiler systems to ensure safe operation.
  • Test low water cutoffs, pressure relief valves, spill switches, blocked vent switches, and other safety devices.
  • Follow OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and company safety policies.
  • Identify unsafe equipment or hazardous conditions and immediately notify supervisors.
  • Maintain clean and organized mechanical rooms and work areas.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal mechanical and boiler codes.

  • Maintain and update required records for boiler operations.
