Role Description

The Heavy Line Technician is a full-time, on-site role located in Los Angeles, CA. This role involves diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical issues on vehicles, including engines, transmissions, drive trains, suspension components, and other heavy line systems. The technician performs routine and preventive maintenance, completes repair orders accurately, and follows all safety and quality standards. Daily tasks include conducting thorough inspections, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems, collaborating with service advisors, and clearly communicating findings and repair needs.

The Heavy Line Technician also maintains a clean and organized work area, uses diagnostic tools and manufacturer service information, and supports a positive customer experience by delivering timely, reliable service.

Qualifications
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in Maintenance & Repair of engines, transmissions, drive trains, and other heavy line systems.
  • Ability to perform accurate Troubleshooting of complex mechanical and basic electrical issues using diagnostic tools and service information.
  • Experience with Preventive Maintenance, including inspections, fluid services, and scheduled component replacements.
  • Commitment to Quality Control, following manufacturer specifications, safety procedures, and shop standards for all repairs.
  • Effective Communication skills to work with service advisors, teammates, and customers, and to complete clear repair documentation.
  • Relevant technical training or certification (e.g., automotive trade school, ASE certifications) preferred.
  • Ability to lift heavy components, operate shop equipment safely, and work in a fast-paced, physically active environment.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and eligibility to operate customer and company vehicles.
