Perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance inspections, light and follow‑up repairs, diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. The Mobile Diesel Technician II may perform advanced diagnostics and repairs under the supervision of a senior technician and continue to develop advanced mechanical skills.

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, various engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck equipment using handheld computers, pressure gauges, and other test instruments.
• Road test vehicles to diagnose and verify proper operation.
• Identify problems, evaluate information, and generate alternatives using sound judgment.
• Independently manage parts inventory and reconcile company‑issued service truck equipment.
• Maintain and operate the service vehicle, perform safety checks, and conduct pre‑and post‑trip inspections.
• Communicate with clients to assess needs and resolve issues.
• Prioritize concurrent tasks and allocate time effectively.
• Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
• Document work on Repair Orders, upload photos, parts used, and findings via the company iOS app.
• Complete DOT forms and all required documentation promptly.
• Manage own daily schedule with a high degree of independence.
• Maintain productivity and meet standard repair times.
• Obtain parts from approved vendors as needed.
• Communicate with management and support teams via email or phone for repair estimates and purchase orders.
• Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of related experience, or an alternative combination such as a degree/certification beyond high school or 5 years of experience.
• Possess the hand tools necessary for the job duties.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• Complete DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical or submit a valid DOT medical card with more than 4 months until expiration.
• Be at least 21 years old in accordance with interstate commerce regulations.
• Hold a valid driver's license and maintain a Driver Qualification File.

Hourly pay ranges from $32.07 to $48.13, varying by location and candidate qualifications. Additional compensation may include commission and incentive programs.
