Dry Utilities​/Underground Power Operator

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Dry Utilities/Underground Power Operator to support the installation, maintenance, and operation of underground electrical and utility systems. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to safety, and the ability to work effectively with field crews to ensure underground utility work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.

• Operate and assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground power and dry utility systems.
• Perform excavation, trenching, conduit installation, cable placement, and related underground utility work.
• Follow project plans, specifications, and established work procedures.

• Safely operate equipment and tools used for underground utility installation and maintenance.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance or repair needs.
• Use appropriate tools and equipment to support efficient field operations.

• Assist with the installation and connection of underground electrical infrastructure.
• Identify and address issues affecting utility installation or system performance.
• Ensure work is completed accurately and according to project requirements.

• Follow OSHA requirements, jobsite safety procedures, and utility-specific safety standards.
• Conduct appropriate inspections and identify potential hazards before and during work.
• Maintain safe work practices around electrical systems, excavation areas, and underground utilities.

• Coordinate with foremen, superintendents, utility crews, and other field personnel.
• Communicate jobsite conditions, progress, equipment needs, and potential issues.
• Support other field activities as needed to maintain project schedules.

• Previous experience in underground utilities, electrical construction, power distribution, or a related field.
• Experience operating equipment used for excavation or underground utility installation preferred.
• Knowledge of underground electrical systems, conduit, cabling, and utility infrastructure.
• Ability to read and follow plans, specifications, and utility drawings.
• Strong understanding of jobsite safety and excavation practices.
• Ability to work outdoors and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced field environment.

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Competent Person certification for excavation and trenching.
• Electrical or utility-specific certifications.
• Equipment operator certifications.
