Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Drop-In Center Case Manager provides high-quality, center-based case management services to individuals and families accessing support through the Drop-In Center.

This role serves as a primary point of contact for participants, promoting stabilization, service connection, and long-term self-sufficiency through structured, on-site services in a safe and welcoming environment.

This position specifically requires direct experience working with justice-involved individuals
, including those impacted by incarceration, probation, parole, diversion programs, re-entry services, or court-mandated systems.

This position is fully center-based. Services are provided on-site at the Drop-In Center only. No fieldwork, outreach, or home visits are required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct client intakes and comprehensive needs assessments
  • Complete psychosocial assessments and develop individualized service plans in collaboration with participants
  • Provide trauma-informed, on-site case management services
  • Support justice-involved individuals navigating probation, parole, re-entry, court requirements, diversion programs, and system compliance
  • Assist clients in addressing barriers related to criminal history, including housing access, employment eligibility, and benefit enrollment
  • Coordinate services including housing referrals, healthcare access, benefits enrollment, employment resources, and social services
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, case notes, and client records
  • Ensure compliance with court-related or supervision-related documentation when applicable
  • Build and maintain trusting, professional relationships with participants
  • Support clients in achieving stability goals related to housing, health, income, and self-sufficiency
  • Coordinate care with internal staff and external service providers, including probation officers, public defenders, re-entry partners, and community agencies
  • Utilize harm reduction, strengths-based, and client-centered approaches
  • Manage an active caseload of Drop-In Center participants
Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Direct experience working with justice-involved populations (incarcerated, formerly incarcerated, probation, parole, diversion, or re-entry programs)
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system and its impact on housing, employment, and public benefits access
  • Experience navigating court systems, probation/parole requirements, or re-entry programming
  • Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of The Good Seed CDC
  • Knowledge of homelessness, poverty, and social service systems
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations experiencing complex needs
  • Experience conducting intakes, assessments, and service planning
  • Familiarity with Los Angeles County social services and community resources
  • Trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and client-centered approach
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or related field
  • Experience working in re-entry programs, public defender offices, probation departments, or community-based justice programs
  • Experience with case management documentation systems
