Community Engagement Specialist

Los Angeles, CA
Part-Time | 30 Hours per Week | Temp-to-Hire
$21 per Hour + Mileage Reimbursement

We're seeking a compassionate, energetic Community Engagement Specialist to support adults with developmental disabilities as they build confidence, strengthen social skills, and actively participate in their communities!

What You'll Do

Every day is different! You'll work alongside participants in real-world community settings, providing encouragement, coaching, and support while helping them develop valuable life and social skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support adults with developmental disabilities during community outings and group activities
  • Foster communication, emotional regulation, and positive social interactions
  • Encourage independence by reinforcing daily living skills, including hygiene, grooming, punctuality, and teamwork
  • Help participants build confidence through engaging recreational, educational, and social experiences
  • Provide individualized coaching, advocacy, and positive behavioral support
  • Maintain appropriate supervision and participant safety at all times
  • Monitor participant progress and provide ongoing encouragement
  • Complete documentation accurately and on time using a smartphone
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure participants receive quality support and services
What We're Looking For
  • Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities in a structured setting
  • Strong communication, conflict resolution, and de-escalation skills
  • Patient, positive, and compassionate approach to supporting others
  • Comfortable using a smartphone for documentation, communication, and timekeeping
  • Ability to receive and apply feedback while working collaboratively with a team
Transportation Requirements

This position requires transporting participants to community activities.

Applicants must have:

  • Reliable personal vehicle
  • Valid driver's license
  • Clean driving record (Background & DMV Check will be completed)
