Saturday-Sunday (3:00pm-11:30pm)

Part-Time, 16 hours/week, Non-Exempt SALARY RANGE: $22.00/hour

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Site Associate, Meadow at Melrose will work at the Melrose Interim Housing Program, a 24-hour, 60-bed program serving transitional age youth (TAY) experiencing housing instability. The Site Associate, Meadow at Melrose helps create a safe, supportive, and community-centered environment for transitional-aged youth (ages 18–24) experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles. This role builds meaningful relationships with youth, provides crisis support and daily onsite assistance, and helps coordinate engaging activities while ensuring the property remains clean, safe, and welcoming.

The ideal candidate is compassionate, reliable, and passionate about empowering young people through trauma-informed, youth-centered care.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  • Daily house and property inspection to maintain curb appeal and resident safety
  • Maintain adequate inventory and storage of program supplies, including snacks, materials for activities, cleaning supplies, laundry soaps, office supplies, etc.
  • Keeping refrigerators and supply closets organized and stocked (food and cleaning supplies).
  • Supporting and co-facilitating activities.
  • Taking out trash regularly when it overflows in common areas hallways and the kitchen
  • Maintaining the common areas including patio area.
  • Conducting daily wellness checks, completing documentation for bed and program logs, and ensuring intake packets are prepared and ready.
  • Assist with program intakes and exits, including preparing intake packets, files, the youth’s living space, and supporting.
  • Coordinate and ensure meal support in the program (e.g. food pantry donations)
  • Report all issues concerning resident health and safety, maintenance or other areas of concern to appropriate managers/point persons within SPY’s Maintenance Department in a timely manner, and track outcomes.
  • interact with and build relationships with program residents, demonstrating the ability to support resident success, solve problems and enforce house rules, and provide crisis response and conflict resolution with and among residents.
  • Communicate emerging and outstanding issues to the Housing Programs Manager in a timely manner; work closely with case managers to resolve issues.
  • Coordinate volunteers providing services on site.
  • Create and make available resource lists and other information to support residents in accessing needed amenities in the neighborhood.
  • In coordination with SPY program team members, coordinate and implement on-site educational, life skills, and healing arts programs, offered by staff, community partners or other volunteers.
  • Assist in the preparation of required program reports.
  • Drive SPY vehicles to transport residents to services and community activities.
  • Work within established legal and ethical guidelines.
  • Ability to work nights/weekends.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or any related field is preferred
    .
  • Related work or lived experience will be strongly considered in place of or in addition to a Bachelor’s degree.
  • 2+ years of experience providing direct services to high-risk transition age youth is preferred
    .
  • Working knowledge of child and adolescent social, emotional, and cognitive development, and trauma informed care is preferred
