POSITIONDESCRIPTION:
The position is responsible for counseling prospective resource parent/families through the recruitment certification process and supporting their retention. Recruitment includes identifying potential families that wish to foster children through TVFS and subsequently transitioning them into the Home Study Process and through completion of RFA certification. The Recruiter will coordinate recruitment, retention and support group events to increase recruitment prospects and increase retention of resource parents.
The position requires that the individual be knowledgeable of and follow the applicable laws and regulations of the resource family approval process and strategies on the recruitment of new families. The individual must have the ability to work effectively with others, manage personnel, and program issues as they apply to the position. The coordinator will also act as a recruiter introducing prospective resource families to the Agency through advertising, phone interviews, social media, and presentations to businesses, clubs, and community organizations.
This person will ensure the approval requirements set by Community Care Licensing, and the agency are fully met.
The goal is to build a cohesive, communicative, knowledgeable group of long-term, dedicated resource families that can provide care and support to youth at any level of care needed. This individual will display an understanding of Foster Care Administration, Title XXII regulations, and ensure compliance with DCFS contracts, Interim Licensing Standards (ILS) and Continuum of Care Reform Provisions. The Individual will have knowledge and experience with the child welfare system and understanding of the impact of trauma on this population.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:- The position requires that the individual have excellent public relations and communication skills. The individual must have an outgoing personality and be self-motivated period or professional demeanor in appearances necessary
- Master's degree with 2 years of experience working directly with resource parents and a foster family agency OR Bachelor's degree 5 years of experience working directly with resource parents and a foster family agency
- Must Possess a valid California driver's license
- Statement of sound physical health from a licensed physician, including tuberculin skin test
- Must meet all requirements set by Community Care Licensing pertaining to the hiring of employees by a licensed community care facility
- Experience working directly with foster parents in a foster family agency
- Fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice
All direct staff have proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route:
- Varicella 2 doses (at least 4 weeks apart)
- MMR 2 doses (at least 4 weeks apart)
- TDap complete primary vaccination series completed at childhood, 1 TDap dose in adulthood
- Influenza, 1 dose annually during flu season
- Utilize a multi-systemic approach to recruit staff including, but not limited to:
Advertisements (determine value and efficacy of such advertisements), Presentations to the community - Function as the point of contact for prospective Resource Parents
- Assist in developing and carrying out the marketing plan within an assigned geographical area
- Willing to work weekends in order to attend events and facilitate trainings
