Pay Range: $23.00 - $27.00 Per hour

Summary

Under the direction of the Program Supervisor, the Inside Safe Motel Resident Monitor is responsible for supporting the daily operations of interim housing sites by promoting participant safety, engagement, program compliance, and housing stability. The Resident Monitor serves as the primary on-site support for participants by conducting wellness checks, room inspections, documenting incidents, monitoring participant accountability, coordinating with Case Managers and other service providers, and assisting with participant needs.

This position plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, supportive, and housing-focused environment while ensuring compliance with agency, funder, and program requirements.

Essential Functions
  • Must know, understand, and be able to articulate the mission, vision, and core values ofHOPICS
  • Obtaining and maintaining a working knowledge of all HOPICS programs and their eligibility criteria
  • Assist with participant admissions, orientations, and coordination of the intake process as directed by program leadership.
  • Maintain compliance with LAHSA, DHS Housing for Health, and agency requirements.
  • Complete participant contact logs, shift notes, incident reports, room inspection documentation, and other required program documentation within established timelines.
  • Conduct motel/hotel site visits and wellness checks.
  • Support Case Managers by identifying participant needs, documenting observations, coordinating appointments, and communicating participant concerns.
  • Conduct daily wellness checks and participant engagement activities.
  • Monitor participant compliance with interim housing expectations.
  • Monitor common areas to promote participant safety, cleanliness, and compliance with program expectations.
  • Assist with emergency evacuations, fire drills, and emergency response procedures as needed.
  • Ensure participant rooms and common areas meet program health and safety standards.
  • Assist with participant orientation upon admission to interim housing.
  • Distribute supplies, meals, hygiene items, and program information.
  • Monitor participant compliance with curfew and motel guidelines.
  • Coordinate with security regarding participant safety concerns.
  • Maintain inventory of basic participant supplies.
  • Report maintenance issues affecting participant health or safety.
  • Participate in daily huddles, case conferencing, and program meetings.
  • Support participant engagement efforts to encourage housing readiness and service participation.
  • Conduct room inspections and occupancy verification.
  • Monitor motel safety, cleanliness, and maintenance concerns.
  • Report facility issues to program leadership and property management.
  • Assist with participant move‑ins, transfers, and exits.
  • Verify participant presence and conduct routine room checks.
  • Monitor participant adherence to motel and program rules.
  • Document participant absences, unauthorized guests, behavioral concerns, and safety issues.
  • Complete shift logs, incident reports, room inspection documentation, participant contact logs, and other required documentation within established time frames.
  • Respond appropriately to participant crises, behavioral concerns, medical emergencies, and safety incidents while notifying supervisory staff and emergency responders when appropriate.
  • Provide thorough shift‑to‑shift communication regarding participant concerns, motel operations, safety issues, and pending follow‑up items.
  • Promptly communicate participant concerns, behavioral changes, safety issues, and service needs to the appropriate Case Manager or Supervisor.
  • Maintain participant confidentiality and protect sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, agency policies, and applicable laws.
  • Ensure all required documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted within required program timelines.
  • Provide participant support services and coordinate with Case Managers to ensure participant needs are communicated and appropriate referrals are made.
