Through our Head Start and Early Head Start programs, we work with children (ages 0 –
5) and their families to provide the skills, confidence and stable home life necessary for a smooth transition into kindergarten and beyond. Children also receive a broad array of health services including screenings and referrals, maintenance of immunization schedules, nutrition assessments and follow‑ups, mental health assessments as part of initial screenings, and determination if any developmental or physical delays are present.

Children receive health and dental services and have access to ongoing and acute and routine health and dental care. Enrolled children receive healthy meals, along with an assessment of their nutritional needs and the necessary follow‑ups. Nutrition education is available for parents and incorporated into daily classroom activities for the children.

This Program Assistant I - ERSEA will assist the ERSEA Coordinator with the implementation of the eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment, and attendance area. They will provide in procedure coordination, recruitment of children, personnel supervision, staff development, and evaluation. They will also act as an interagency liaison when needed to support mobilization of community resources, client advocacy, reports, and referrals. They are responsible for checks and reviews of data for completion and conformance with established regulations and procedures.

They will also monitor for compliance with Performance Standards.

• Assist with implementation of the Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, Attendance (ERSEA) Plan. Assist in monitoring, preparing reports, and work with staff to carry out ERSEA-related activities to ensure programs reach full enrollment.
• Work as a team to establish and maintain direct communication channels between the family, program staff, Family Advocates, Administrative staff, and community members. Coordinates collection and preparation of children's attendance records and provides training to staff for accurate record keeping. Utilize computer data systems to input, retrieve, and update required data for Child Plus for monitoring & reporting purposes.
• Analyze any pattern of absenteeism that falls below 85%. Monitor the Child Plus database for possible terminations to ensure full enrollment is reached. Monitor daily attendance to ensure the minimum 85% average daily attendance is reached and meal counts to ensure data information is complete and accurate.
• Implements program–operating practices such as record keeping, performance standards, and recommended development of systems Assist with record keeping of files and monitoring of family enrollment.
• Attends all meetings required by the funding source and agency management; prepares and submits required reports promptly and accurately and administrative forms in a timely manner.
