Overview
USC Credit Union is seeking a Programmer Analyst III to join our dynamic IT team. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Information Technology and is responsible for advanced programming and systems analysis work in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of complex software applications. The Programmer Analyst III serves as a technical expert, mentor, and project contributor, ensuring high‑quality and secure solutions that align with organizational goals.
Responsibilities- Design, code, test, debug, install, document, and maintain complex software applications.
- Interact with users to determine their software application objectives, scope, and requirements.
- Produce required analyses and application design documentation, individually or in collaboration with development teams.
- Translate design specifications into programming languages, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance.
- Develop test data and routines required to test and revise applications; ensure applications are thoroughly tested before release.
- Detect, define, and debug programs whenever issues are reported or encountered.
- Prepare developer and end‑user documentation in accordance with internal and external standards.
- Train users and programmers as required and provide guidance, mentorship, and technical direction to less experienced programming staff.
- Review and validate code developed by other programmers to ensure adherence to best practices and standards.
- Follow protocols and procedures to ensure application security and data integrity.
- Stay informed of new developments, frameworks, and emerging technologies by maintaining contact with vendors, reading technical journals, and participating in professional development opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience with Jack Henry Symitar and Power On programming language.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., C#, Java, Python, SQL).
- Strong understanding of programming and documentation procedures, software design methodologies, and data management.
- Experience with application integration, API development, and database systems.
- Familiarity with version control systems and secure coding practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead projects and mentor junior developers.
- Flexible scheduling that may include occasional evening or weekend hours.
- Must pass a pre‑employment background and credit check.
The hourly rate range for this position is $57.69 – $62.50, depending on qualifications and experience.
