About Netflix

Role

Join our Observability engineering group to build and operate platform products that help Netflix engineers understand real‑time system health and troubleshoot issues.

Team

Part of the Exploration and Troubleshooting team, a core component of the Observability engineering group that powers Netflix’s ability to operate the cloud at scale.

What you could work on

Work across our suite of observability products to deliver a best‑in‑class experience, combine signals into actionable insights, and collaborate with Telemetry and Monitoring teams.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver a best‑in‑class observability experience across the product suite.
  • Combine a large number of observability signals into usable, actionable insights.
  • Represent the Observability team to Telemetry and Monitoring sister teams.
  • Design, build, and operate API layers that support front‑end user experiences (including Graph

    QL and Node.js).
  • Build, maintain, evolve, and sunset a variety of APIs.
  • Own the full software lifecycle: design, development, testing, deployment, operation, and support.
Qualifications
  • Full‑stack developer experience with both backend and frontend.
  • Proficient in backend for front‑ends:
    Graph

    QL, Node.js, API design, and operation.
  • Experience with React and Type Script.
  • Strong knowledge of the entire software lifecycle.
  • 6+ years of experience in high‑scale, modern tech‑driven companies.
Behavioral skills
  • Collaborative and able to influence product direction.
  • Clear communicator to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Confident decision‑maker with well‑informed opinions.
  • Proactive in providing and receiving feedback.
  • Selfless mindset focused on Netflix’s overall success.

Nice to have
  • Observability product experience (logs, metrics, traces).
  • Platform experience where engineers were internal customers.
Compensation

Competitive total compensation ($100,000 - $720,000) based on role, experience, and location.
