Senior Software Engineer

Luminate is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team. You will work with a team of product managers, designers, data scientists, operations analysts, and fellow engineers to deliver a high‑quality software platform that brings value to our clients.

• Working with your team to deliver on our product roadmap, utilizing modern software development practices.
• Developing not just the code, but all parts for the work: tests, configuration, database schema, etc. as a small team we develop competencies across the entire stack for the mutual benefit of everyone.
• Participating in architecture and design discussions to ensure our work stays aligned with business objectives.
• Managing risk and uncertainty while moving forward as we bring our platform to new markets and audiences.
• Contributing back to our engineering practices in ways that best demonstrate your own unique strengths.

• 3+ years of software engineering experience.
• Developing RESTful APIs using Spring Boot in Java.
• Developing React front‑ends with Type Script.
• Developing with public cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• API Design and micro‑service architecture.

• CI/CD Pipelines.
• Test‑Driven Development.
• Front end testing, ideally with Playwright.
• Snowflake, or other data‑warehousing systems.
• Postgre
  
  SQL.
• Open Search.
• Datadog.
• Triaging and handling emergent issues as part of an on‑call rotation.
• Utilizing AI coding tools to maximize productivity while maintaining a strong scrutiny of results and accountability for all submitted code.
• Utilizing project management tools such as Jira to break down and track complex work streams.

Tackling multiple parts of the system, developing a deeper understanding of the entire platform, and contributing meaningfully to larger development efforts across the engineering organization.

Working with your manager to create goals aligned to your career and development interests. Potentially becoming a technical team lead for one of our teams.

For candidates based in California, the salary range is $135,000 – $150,000 upon hire, with final base salary determined by experience and expertise. Luminate reserves the right to change compensation bands at any time.
