Responsibilities- Analyze, design, develop, debug and modify embedded control software for electronics applications such as controllers, PFC based 3‑phase Active Rectifiers, Motor Control, DC‑DC Converters, and AC Drives for harsh and hazardous environments for commercial aerospace products.
- Provide technical support to engineering projects related to water and waste systems and components.
- Develop embedded software for electronics systems and electro‑mechanical products.
- Develop control system software requirements and generate embedded C or C++ code for controllers and motor‑control systems with on‑board digital signal processors.
- Contribute to system design and independently develop subsystem designs that meet requirements, balancing trade‑offs between requirements, cost and reliability.
- Work with suppliers to review software design, support software design review activities, and interface with vendors, customers and other departments on technical issues.
- Execute thorough unit test plans; report, analyze, debug and correct anomalies; integrate with other components to produce final products.
- Perform RTCA/DO‑178 based process tasks and generate documentation such as PSAC, SDP, SVP, SCMP, SQAP, SCI and SAS.
- Find or create solutions to problems requiring research, resourcefulness and creativity.
- Understand, follow and promote ZWWS policies and procedures.
- Process engineering changes in the development of water and waste systems and equipment.
- Utilize sound technical problem‑solving to support ongoing projects with assistance from higher‑level engineers.
- Document findings and trade studies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Hands‑on programming in C/C++, VHDL/Verilog and/or scripting languages such as Perl/Python or Power Shell.
- Knowledge in embedded systems architecture and programming.
- Programming skills in LabVIEW.
- Experience developing firmware on TMS

- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in electrical or computer engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution or equivalent.
- 1–5 years of electronics experience with a desire for mixed‑signal design experience.
- Analytical knowledge of active rectifiers, PFC, inverter and motor control software design.
- Design knowledge of CAN, ARINC
429, I2C, SPI, RS232 software modules. - Modeling skills using electrical circuit simulation tools such as PSPICE and system‑level simulation tools such as PSIM, MATLAB/Simulink.
- Hands‑on experience with electronics equipment such as programmable power supplies, high‑speed digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers.
- Design and develop instrumentation for electrical parameter characterization and validation.
- Understanding of communication protocols such as CAN, ARINC, SPI, RS‑232.
- Experience with aerospace regulations such as RTCA/DO‑160/DO‑178 and RTCA/DO‑254 guidelines.
- Knowledge of major aerospace OEM electronics design guidelines.
- Strong work ethic, commitment to excellence, and ability to communicate and work in a team environment.
- Ability to provide leadership to other engineering team members.
- Experience using design/simulation tools such as Altium/OrCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, PSIM, PSPICE.
