Principal or Senior Principal Software Engineer – Guidance Navigation Control (GNC)

Location:

Woodland Hills, CA. Relocation assistance may be available. Travel: 10% of the time.

U.S. citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance.

• Develop, test, and debug software for cutting‑edge navigation systems.
• Perform software and system integration on state‑of‑the‑art hardware.
• Use Model‑Based Engineering (MBE) with MATLAB/Simulink and Agile practices.
• Collaborate across the organization; communicate with internal and external customers.
• Show strong leadership, ethics, integrity, and innovative problem‑solving.

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5 years of hands‑on software development experience; 3years with a Master’s; 1year with a Ph.D.
• Experience developing software in MATLAB/Simulink.
• Programming experience in C and Python.
• Experience with software management and workflow automation tools such as Clear Case, Git, Clear Quest, or Jira.
• Knowledge of using MATLAB to create, process, analyze and visually represent data.
• Experience using Simulink to model dynamic systems.
• Familiarity with Model‑Based Engineering tools.
• Knowledge of INS/GPS Kalman filter design and requirements definition.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative development environment.
• U.S. citizenship required; secret clearance requirement.
• Full‑time onsite work required.

• Experience developing software in MATLAB/Simulink.
• Programming experience in C and Python.
• Experience with software management and workflow automation tools such as Clear Case, Git, Clear Quest, or Jira.
• Experience using MATLAB to create, process, analyze and visually represent data.
• Experience using Simulink to model dynamic systems.
• Experience with navigation systems and INS/GPS Kalman filter design and requirements definition.

• Current or active U.S. Government Secret clearance.
• Experience in development and performance of software tests.
• Experience with DOORS for software requirements management.
• Expertise in sensor fusion for navigation systems using IMU, GPS, barometers and other sensors.
• Expertise in INS mechanizations.
• Expertise in embedded INS/GPS navigation systems.
• Capability to translate formal software requirements into software designs.
• Capability to define software requirements for an INS/GPS system.
• Experience developing, verifying, certifying and releasing mission and safety‑critical software systems that comply with RTCA DO‑178B/C or similar guidelines.
• Experience with MATLAB for simulation and INS/GPS system performance evaluation.
• Hands‑on experience with communication protocols such as MIL‑STD‑1553, ARINC‑429 or RS‑422.
• Experience with code analysis tools such as Polyspace and software test tools such as LDRA and Vector Cast.

Primary Level: $114,000–$171,000. Secondary Level: $142,200–$213,400. Salary determined by scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills and market conditions.

Eligible for overtime, shift differential and discretionary bonus. Possibility of long‑term incentives for executive roles. Health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company‑paid holidays, paid time off for vacation and personal business. All compensation may vary.
