TASTE SUCCESS

As our Director of Web Development
, you will:

  • Serve as the lead developer, architecting, coding, and reviewing solutions for Hex Clad’s web platforms (Shopify, custom applications, integrations, and internal tools).
  • Act as the primary technical resource for all developers, providing guidance, troubleshooting, and mentorship on projects, code quality, and standards.
  • Own the overall architecture of Hex Clad’s web ecosystem, ensuring systems are efficient, maintainable, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
  • Manage, coach, and inspire a team of developers, setting clear expectations and ensuring best practices in development workflows, version control, testing, and deployment.
  • Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders (eCommerce, Marketing, Creative, Operations, IT) to translate business goals into elegant technical solutions.
  • Stay at the forefront of web development technologies, frameworks, and practices, proactively bringing innovations and improvements to the team.
  • Oversee and maintain site performance, security, and reliability across all environments.
  • Lead sprint planning, technical scoping, and code review processes.
  • Ensure documentation of architecture, systems, and processes is created and maintained.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of web development experience
    , with mastery of modern web frameworks, CMS platforms (Shopify, Word Press, or similar), JavaScript libraries (React, Vue, etc.), and backend technologies.
  • 2–3+ years in a lead or managerial role
    , overseeing other developers.
  • Deep experience with Shopify (Liquid, Hydrogen, Storefront API, checkout extensibility, metafields/metaobjects, and custom app development).
  • Proven track record of hands‑on coding alongside leading architecture decisions and technical roadmaps.
  • Expert knowledge of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, accessibility, and performance optimization.
  • Strong experience with APIs, integrations, and database design/management.
  • Own version control systems (Git), CI/CD pipelines, environment management, monitoring, and deployment strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with PCI, GDPR/CCPA, and implement security best practices across all systems.
  • Exceptional problem‑solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues quickly.
  • A natural mentor and team leader
    , able to command respect as the smartest developer in the room while also bringing others along.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Love of food and cooking! Cooking skills and/or experience in the culinary industry are a plus.
