Job Description
The Sport Clubs Coach II (Tennis) is a non‑exempt position responsible for the coaching of the assigned Tennis club(s).
Duties- Coordinate practices; home and away competitions; and tournaments.
- Teach a wide array of participants from beginners to experienced high school and collegiate athletes.
- Properly instruct fundamentals and technique.
- Assist club leadership with short- and long‑term goals and a plan of action for the academic year.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the department, division, and university.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum two years’ experience coaching at the youth, high school, junior college or collegiate club level.
- High School Graduate or GED.
- Effective communication with a diverse student population.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and organizational skills.
- Experience commensurate with coaching at the collegiate club level.
Hourly wage commensurate with knowledge, skills and experience. Seasonal, hourly, part‑time position typically from August through May of the following year.
Travel required for tournaments.
Practices typically 2–3 days per week September through April, with 3–5 tournaments during the season (mainly in Southern California; some out‑of‑state travel will be required). Typical schedule will be 8–20 hours weekly when classes are in session.
Salary range and expected hiring range: $20.00 – $30.00 per hour.
