Job Description

The Sport Clubs Coach II (Tennis) is a non‑exempt position responsible for the coaching of the assigned Tennis club(s).

• General:
  Coordinate practices, home and away competitions, and tournaments. Teach a wide array of participants from beginners to experienced high school and collegiate athletes, properly instructing fundamentals and technique.
• Administrative:
  Assist club leadership with short‑ and long‑term goals and a plan of action for the academic year.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the department, division, and university.

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum two years’ experience coaching at the youth, high school, junior college or collegiate club level.
• High School Graduate/GED required.
• Effective communication with a diverse student population, demonstrated leadership and organizational skills, and experience commensurate with coaching at the collegiate club level.

Hourly wage commensurate with knowledge, skills and experience. Seasonal, hourly, part‑time position typically from August through May of the following year. Travel required for tournaments. Practices typically 2‑3 days per week from September through April, with 3‑5 tournaments during the season (mainly Southern California; some out of state travel required).

Typical schedule:

8‑20 hours weekly during class session.

Salary range: $20.00 – $30.00 per hour.
