Job Summary

The Loading Dock Attendant is responsible for monitoring and controlling access to the loading dock area while ensuring the safe and efficient flow of vehicle traffic. This customer-facing role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to enforce loading dock procedures in a professional and courteous manner.

Pay: $21.00 an hour

Shift: Wednesday-Sunday 12pm - 8:30pm

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and control entry and exit access to the loading dock.
  • Enforce loading dock policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Operate gates, barriers, and traffic control lights to ensure safe loading dock operations.
  • Direct drivers and authorized personnel entering and exiting the loading area.
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service to drivers, vendors, tenants, and visitors.
  • Issue tickets and process payments using designated technology and equipment.
  • Accurately record information including ticket numbers, license plate numbers, driver's license information, and other required details.
  • Prepare reports and maintain logs related to loading dock activity.
  • Communicate effectively with management, security personnel, vendors, and drivers regarding operational needs or concerns.
  • Report safety hazards, incidents, or unauthorized access attempts promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work area.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in customer service, parking operations, security, transportation, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to enforce rules and procedures professionally and consistently.
  • Good spoken English communication skills.
  • Legible handwriting and strong attention to detail for accurate documentation.
  • Basic arithmetic skills for report preparation and transaction handling.
  • Comfortable using technology for ticket issuance, payment processing, and recordkeeping.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
