The Warehouse Clerk is responsible for maintaining an organized, clean, and efficient warehouse that supports daily plumbing operations. This role oversees inventory accuracy, parts tracking, barcoding systems, ordering support, and controlled access to tools and materials. The Warehouse Clerk plays a key role in ensuring technicians have the right equipment and materials available to deliver excellent service to customers.
Key Responsibilities Warehouse Organization & MaintenanceMaintain a clean, safe, and well‑organized warehouse environment.
Ensure shelves, bins, and storage areas are properly labeled and structured for efficiency.
Conduct routine warehouse inspections and report safety or maintenance issues.
Coordinate disposal, recycling, and storage of obsolete or damaged materials.
Inventory ManagementReceive, inspect, and properly store incoming parts, tools, and equipment.
Track and maintain accurate inventory levels of plumbing materials and supplies.
Perform regular cycle counts and assist with full inventory audits.
Monitor stock usage trends and identify shortages or overstock situations.
Barcoding & Tracking SystemsAssign, label, and maintain barcodes for parts, tools, and equipment.
Manage inventory data within company software (e.g., Service Titan or other systems).
Track tool and equipment check‑in/check‑out processes.
Ensure accurate logging of materials issued to technicians and job locations.
Ordering & Vendor CoordinationAssist with ordering inventory based on usage and minimum stock levels.
Communicate with vendors regarding order status, returns, and discrepancies.
Verify packing slips and invoices against received goods.
Support cost control through proper inventory practices.
Access Control & AccountabilityMonitor and track access to inventory, tools, and restricted storage areas.
Maintain accountability systems to reduce loss, misuse, or theft.
Issue and collect tools and materials as needed.
Work closely with dispatch and technicians to ensure timely material availability.
Operational SupportPrepare job materials and kits for technicians when needed.
Assist with loading and unloading company vehicles.
Support warehouse‑related projects and process improvements.
Collaborate with the operations team to improve workflow efficiency.
QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.
1–3 years of warehouse, inventory, or supply chain experience (plumbing or construction industry preferred).
Basic computer skills; experience with inventory software or barcode systems is a plus.
Ability to lift and move materials (up to 50 lbs).
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
Valid driver’s license preferred.
