Barre Instructor Position

The Club at Los Gatos, the Bay Area's premier health club, is looking for superstar Barre instructors that motivate and inspire members!

Requirements:

  • 18 years or older
  • Possess CPR Certification (First Aid not required but desired)
  • Preferred Group Exercise Instructor Certification (AEA, ACE, AFAA, NASM, etc)
  • Prefer 2+ years of instructor experience

Instructor Responsibilities:

  • Instructor will teach classes that are scheduled from start to finish.
  • Instructor will exhibit the competence to answer questions as relates to physiology and kinesiology of movements to further support safe membership participation.
  • Instructor will demonstrate the ability to inspire and motivate participants within a positive context for learning.
  • Instructor will exhibit the ability to work with club staff with the highest level of professionalism.
  • Instructor will provide a warm and inviting atmosphere to develop rapport, answer questions, and develop effective engagement in class.
  • Instructor will notify management of any facility needs, and or problems
  • Instructor will comply with all safety standards within the Group Exercise department and facility.
  • Instructor will comply with all related duties as is necessary for the job.
  • Possess working knowledge of kinesiology, human anatomy, and instructing methods.
  • Ability to progress and regress movements for members.
  • Instructor will provide warm-up and cool-down for safe class transitions.
  • Instructor will institute dynamic and effective workout exercises coupled with proper technique, body awareness, appropriate demonstrations, correct identification of muscle groups, and ways to strengthen particular muscle groups.
  • Knowledge of tempo, cueing, rhythm
  • Advanced knowledge of choreography and music skills to provide a seamless integration of methods and dynamic programming for member engagement.
  • Instructors must be able to cue in real time to allow for smooth and safe transitions into movements.
  • Ability to source music and integrate it appropriately for a 60 minute aerobic workout
