Mariposa Montessori School in Los Gatos, CA is looking for a passionate and nurturing Assistant Teacher to join our dedicated team. This is a wonderful opportunity to support young learners in a child-centered, hands-on educational environment where curiosity and independence are celebrated every day. This position is available in our Toddler classroom for children ages 18 months to 3 years old.

Hours of work would be Monday to Friday, 8:15am-4:45pm.

• Support the lead Montessori teacher in delivering engaging, child-directed lessons and activities
• Supervise and guide students during classroom work cycles, outdoor play, and transitions
• Prepare and maintain Montessori materials and a clean, organized classroom environment
• Observe and document individual student progress and developmental milestones
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom community
• Communicate warmly and professionally with parents, guardians, and staff
• Assist with snack time, lunch, and other daily routines as needed

• Experience working with young children in a school, childcare, or educational setting
• Familiarity with Montessori philosophy and methods is a plus
• Early Childhood Education (ECE) units or degree
• Patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic demeanor with a genuine love for children
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to pass a background check and meet state licensing requirements
• Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain
