Software Engineer - Ads Finance

Netflix’s Ads Platform Engineering team seeks a senior engineer to build high‑performance, reliable advertising systems that support our new ad‑supported tier and maximize revenue from global audiences.

You will work on the Ads Finance sub‑ledger, creating systems for billing, invoicing, revenue recognition, and reporting that interface with sales teams, DSPs, and resellers. Your work will enable Netflix to monetize its content while maintaining strict privacy, compliance, and financial governance.

• Design, develop, and maintain distributed, secure, and compliant financial pipelines for ad revenue.
• Implement billing and invoicing solutions that process financial transactions, manage revenue recognition, and generate accurate invoices for DSP partners.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with sales, marketing, and product teams to integrate advertising workflow streams and ensure seamless ad execution and reporting.
• Lead architecture decisions, focusing on scalability, reliability, and adherence to SOX, audit, and data governance standards.

• 3+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience building business‑critical, reliable, and distributed systems.
• Strong background in financial or payment solutions, including revenue recognition, invoicing, and bill generation.
• Proficiency in privacy, compliance, and governance for financial data; experience with audit and SOX requirements.
• Deep understanding of the modern ad‑technology ecosystem—programmatic advertising, DSPs, CTV, and public ad‑tech standards.
• Experience building cloud‑based applications using modern object‑oriented programming languages and supporting A/B testing and experimentation.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills; able to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
• Nice to have: familiarity with legal compliance surrounding ad regulations, experience in the CTV space, and knowledge of ML usage.
