Student Work Position

Description:

To provide office support and assistance for the community-based archiving and oral history project in collaboration with the Tomé Land Grant. Professionalism and reliability is required for positively interacting with and responding to community partners, faculty,and staff. Knowledge of cataloguing, handling and documenting archivalmaterials is required. Strong organizational skills are necessary to ensurethorough preparation of the archival collections. A high degree of confidentiality is required due to the handling of sensitive documentsentrusted to the student employee by the community partner.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Experience with basic office equipment.
  • Skills in handling archival materials, records maintenance, word processing anddata entry.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of archival materials.
  • Ability to follow set standards for interpreting and preserving archivalmaterials.
  • Desire and ability to work independently.
  • Completion of ENG 2120 and SPAN 2220 courses
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred
  • * MUST be Work Study Eligible (please check with Financial Aid First)
