Project Superintendent Position Summary

Colorado Network Staffing (CNS) is seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to support ORCOM in the construction of a temporary wastewater treatment facility at Grand Canyon National Park's North Rim. This highly visible federal project includes the construction of a 90,000‑gallon‑per‑day membrane wastewater treatment system, utility installation, site grading, concrete foundations, lift stations, conditioned storage facilities, laboratory installation, commissioning, and system startup.

The Project Superintendent will oversee daily field operations, coordinate subcontractors, maintain project schedules, enforce safety standards, and ensure quality workmanship while operating in a remote National Park environment. Experience managing federal construction projects, utility infrastructure, wastewater treatment facilities, or heavy civil construction is strongly preferred.

Essential Functions Construction Management
  • Oversee all daily construction activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and field personnel.
  • Develop and maintain short‑term project schedules to support overall project milestones.
  • Monitor construction progress and proactively resolve field issues to minimize project delays.
  • Ensure work is completed in compliance with contract requirements, project specifications, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate inspections and support project commissioning and startup activities.
Safety & Compliance
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture in accordance with OSHA regulations, EM 385‑1‑1, and company safety policies.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings, site inspections, and hazard assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with all National Park Service environmental regulations and project‑specific environmental protection requirements.
  • Maintain required project documentation, including daily reports, safety records, and quality control documentation.
Project Coordination
  • Coordinate utility installation, site grading, concrete work, lift station construction, conditioned storage facilities, laboratory installation, and wastewater treatment system components.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, owners, inspectors, and government representatives to maintain project objectives.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals to ensure proper execution of work.
  • Assist in planning material deliveries, equipment utilization, and workforce scheduling.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates on schedule, progress, and field activities.
Leadership
  • Lead field personnel by promoting teamwork, accountability, and high‑quality workmanship.
  • Mentor craft workers and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project standards.
  • Foster positive working relationships with project stakeholders while maintaining professionalism in a remote work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required;
    Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Superintendent on commercial, heavy civil, utility, or federal construction projects.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple trades.
  • Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, safety regulations, quality control, and project documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with federal construction projects for agencies such as the National Park Service (NPS), USACE, NAVFAC, GSA, or other federal entities.
