Position Summary
TheUNM-Valencia Campus is accepting applications for temporary, part-time facultyto teach English courses. If online teaching is needed, documentedaccepted training and/or in-house training would be required. Positions are contingent upon the need of each semester as determined by student enrollment levels and current course offerings. This is a continuous recruitment beginning in the Fall 2026 semester.
Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia County, The University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of The University of New Mexico, whichfunctions as a community college in the region and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs, technical programs, Adult Education,and Dual Credit courses to high schools in Valencia and Socorro Counties.
The faculty and staff serve a student body of over 2,000 students per semester.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s in English or related field.
- One-year English teaching experience at the post-secondary level
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. or MFA in English (or related field)
- One-year English teaching experience at a community college
- One year teaching experience using Canvas
- Excellence in teaching (documented via student or supervisor evaluations)
- A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities.
Applicants who are appointed to a UNM faculty position are required to provide an official certification of successful completion of all degree requirements prior to their initial employment with UNM.
