The Director of Forensic Services oversees the operations of the VSS Child Advocacy Center & SANE forensic services. Who is also a trained forensic interviewer who conducts forensic interviews with children.
Additional Areas of ResponsibilityCoordinating forensic exam advocacy, follow-up services for abuse victims and nonoffending family members, reviewing notifications of abuse and neglect, scheduling forensic interviews, assigning forensic interviewers and advocates to CAC & SANE cases. Responsible for tracking client statistical data, consulting with members of the multidisciplinary team, participating in monthly case review, leadership and taskforce team meetings, and providing professional testimony in court.
OtherInformation/Requirements
Master’s degree in child development, psychology, social work, or Bachelor’s degree plus 5 or more years of experience in the field. Forensic Interview Training/Certification required to be completed in first year. Be team-focused, detail-oriented with excellent computer skills. Must pass a criminal background investigation. Basic knowledge of child development, trauma, cultural awareness, and linguistics. Communicate well with children of diverse ages, races, and background.
