POSITION:
Cable Technician - Senior Lead Technician

About the Role:

As a Sr Lead Technician, you will oversee the installation and decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure in data center environments, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership skills to manage multiple crews, coordinate project schedules, and control labor and materials. You will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints, performing structured cabling work, troubleshooting copper and fiber systems, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Additionally, you will collaborate with stakeholders, support new deployments and live sites, and ensure compliance with industry’s best practices. Ideal candidates combine technical expertise with project management capabilities and a commitment to delivering sustainable, repeatable solutions.

What You Will Do:
  • Installation/decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure in a Data Center environment.

  • Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, always with an eye on improvement.

  • Provide structured feedback on project progress to Stakeholders.

  • Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain Data Center cleanliness.

  • Follow all production, safety and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.

  • Collaborate with various Stakeholders to remove project obstacles.

  • Reading and comprehending blueprints and building documentation/redline work.

  • Broad understanding of Data Center infrastructure technologies.

What You Will Need:
  • Knowledge and use of basic telecom hand tools.

  • Must be capable of leading multiple crews (up to 15 technicians).

  • Must understand customer service, perform job walks and communicate with customer for job requirements.

  • Accept responsibility of outcome of work performed by him/her and/or by employee that directly report to him/her.

  • Clear understanding of job safety requirements.

  • Be able to read and understand job floor plan.

  • Should be familiar on wiring schemes and wiring testing.

  • Should be able to pull all types of low voltage cables.

  • Should understand and be capable in performing field terminations and labeling.

  • Capable of maintaining orderly paperwork, capable of running midsize to large projects and service jobs.

  • Possess skill to layout MDF and IDF closets, be able to dress all types of cable and perform all types of terminations and should include basic understanding of fiber equipment, all types of cable and fiber terminations.

  • Basic understanding of both copper and fiber cable testing and troubleshooting.

  • Capable of working in Data Centers.

  • Shall be able to work on analog, DSL, and be able to extend T1 lines.

  • Be able to patch network equipment.

  • Reports to Operations Manager and take daily directions from Technician, Technician II, Lead Technicians, Senior Technicians and Advance Senior Technicians.

  • Installing any structured or non-structure cabling

  • Run any size installation, moves or changes.

  • Work in conjunction with project schedules

  • Manage and control labor and materials on assigned

  • Ensure all task and work orders have proper scope

  • Recognizes and recommends applicable training

  • Supports both new deployment and live site/product

  • Coordinates with Logistics on material moves

  • Identify Staging Area for materials

  • Inventory staged materials as needed

  • Coordinates with QAQC on quality final walk

  • Ability to lead multiple crews
