Senior Juvenile Probation Parole Officers are responsible for the supervision of high-risk youth both pre-adjudicated and post-adjudicated misdemeanor and felony cases in the community on behalf of the Courts and the Supervised Release Panel. In addition, this job services clients and their families by assisting in finding and providing referrals for resources in the community. Job duties are conducted during non-traditional hours, which may Include weekends.

This position will screen, assess and staff to make appropriate recommendations on all referrals and complaints on clients. They will attend court hearing and make recommendations. Position provides supervision of juveniles by conducting home, school, and office visits to ensure compliance with court ordered probation and supervised release requirements. Maintain clients master file and enter data into Family Automated Client Tracking System (FACTS).

JPO will collaborate with community resources, such as law enforcement agencies, school and service providers

Juvenile Probation Officers are responsible for the supervision and performance monitoring of adjudicated misdemeanor and felony offenders in the community on behalf of the Courts and the Supervised Release Panel. In addition, this job services clients and their families by assisting in finding and providing referrals for resources in the community.

The ideal candidate would have integrity and honesty. They would be driven, responsible, and committed to the population that is served. They would possess conflict resolution skills and the ability to make rational and quick decisions during stressful situations. They would need to have the ability to communicate clearly and concise as they are required to document critical information, prepare dispositional reports for the courts, and other documentation.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in sociology, psychology, corrections, guidance and counseling, social work, police science, criminal justice, juvenile justice, education, public administration, or closely related field. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.

Work is preformed in an office setting, client's homes, and institutions. Late hours, weekend, and call back work may be required. Will be exposed to regular periods of video display terminal, keyboard usage, and stressful situation. Some travel may be required. The following condition are also applicable:

• Must have a telephone and must be willing to give this phone number to Director of Field Services. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license at all times.
• Must be willing to be frequently on call 24hrs a day.
• Must be willing to travel and be willing to work shifts, holidays, weekends and call back for emergencies. Must be willing to work with offenders that have high-risk behaviors and require intervention or services.
• Must be willing to work with potential risk from offenders who are possibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol or otherwise distressed.

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement and all terms/conditions of that agreement apply and must be adhered to.
