Logistics Coordinator
The Logistics Coordinator supports data center operations by managing the receiving, storage, and shipment of materials while maintaining accurate records and performance metrics. This role handles customer inquiries and escalations, coordinates inbound and outbound activities, and helps ensure inventory levels meet expectations and key performance indicators. The position requires strong collaboration with on-site teams, carriers, and customers in a fast-paced, safety-focused warehouse and data center environment.
Responsibilities
- Support data center operations by coordinating the receiving, storing, and shipping of materials.
- Handle customer queries, escalations, and a large volume of day-to-day reports throughout the life cycle of customer orders.
- Build and maintain close working relationships with full-time employees by understanding their day-to-day business requirements and providing timely support.
- Ensure customer and carrier performance reports are completed weekly and monthly, submitted on time, and contain accurate content.
- Maintain accurate records and metrics, and perform audits and assessments to support operational performance.
- Identify, document, and implement Opportunities for Improvement (OFI) within logistics and warehouse processes.
- Apply scheduling, planning, and coordination activities to support product inbound and outbound operations.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of all operating systems and tools used in the work area, including logistics and warehouse management systems.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders, customers, and external partners.
- Proactively set up and use internal systems, including EDI feeds or manual entries, to support order processing and data accuracy.
- Ensure orders are placed and processed in a timely manner to meet KPI requirements and support proper inventory levels for customer expectations.
- Use Word, Excel, and Outlook for tracking, reporting, and analysis, including working with spreadsheets and reports.
- Observe and support safe operation around forklifts, electric carts, and pallet jacks in the warehouse environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall data center and warehouse operations.
Essential Skills
- Experience in logistics, logistics management, or warehouse management in a customer-focused environment.
- Hands-on familiarity with logistics and warehouse management systems.
- Customer service background in logistics or planning with the ability to build relationships and provide timely resolutions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with a strong emphasis on Excel for tracking and analysis.
- Ability to use Excel functions such as VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables (experience with these is considered a plus).
- Ability to type efficiently while handling communication and documentation tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed in a warehouse and data center environment.
- Ability to adapt and work effectively in an ever-changing, high-pressure, and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities and requests simultaneously.
- Experience working around forklifts, electric carts, and pallet jacks, with an understanding of safe warehouse practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and accuracy when maintaining records, metrics, and performance reports.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a data center or high-value equipment environment.
- Background using EDI feeds or similar systems for order and data management.
- Experience performing audits, assessments, and continuous improvement activities.
- Familiarity with key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics and inventory management.
- Comfort working with structured reports and dashboards to monitor performance.
- Strong organizational skills to support scheduling, planning, and coordination of inbound and outbound operations.
