Joiner - Housing

Charnwood Council are looking for an experienced Joiner to join them on a temporary contract.

Working within the Housing Maintenance and Repair department, you will complete various joinery repairs, on housing which are both occupied and vacant.

• To support the Repairs Team.
• Carry out all types of repairs and maintenance work allied to the joinery trade discipline.
• Complete work to a high standard of quality and output.
• Ensure that repairs are carried out promptly and within the appropriate time limits.
• Introduce yourself to the tenant, show proof of identify and explain the nature and purpose of the repair.
• Liaise with other building trades as necessary for the efficient co‑ordination of work activities.
• Assist with other trades if required.
• Able to complete all joinery repairs and replacements as well as any upgrades.
• Able to identify and advise on correct action for all joinery and associated works.
• Inspect items of disrepair. Assess options for repair or replacement and remedy.
• Be responsible and aware of any safeguarding issues when within a tenant's property and report.
• Assist colleagues where the repair requires more than one operative.
• Adhere to all Codes of Practice and Health and Safety legislation.
