We have an excellent opportunity to join our Fortem team working permanently with Amplius Housing group as a Roofer. You will need to have experience in all aspects of roofing including slate, tile, pitched and flat roofing, in order to maintain and repair social housing properties across South Birmingham, Walsall and Coventry. Core hours are Monday‑Friday, 8:00‑16:30, with travel required. A company van and fuel card are provided, along with a generous benefits package and holiday entitlement.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Carry out predominantly reactive maintenance, repairing and renewing sections on a wide variety of roof types (residential and communal), including slate, tile, flat roof and torch‑on repairs.
  • Repair and renew guttering, work on scaffolds and carry out scaffold inspections.
  • Ensure all work is undertaken to a high standard with minimal supervision, diagnose faults and communicate additional works required to supervisors or line managers.
  • Take ownership of work, aiming for a first‑time fix on all jobs while remaining within budget and time parameters.
  • Operate within company health and safety guidelines and keep up to date with technical and legal requirements of your skill areas.
What you will need
  • PASMA trained and experience of scaffold inspections (training will be provided if you do not have this).
  • Good knowledge of health and safety and working at height.
  • Certificate or NVQ in roofing, or equivalent experience.
  • Full UK driving licence (max 5 points). No recent driving bans and must be able to pass a basic DBS check.
  • Desirable: past experience in a responsive repairs role.
  • Desirable: social housing experience.
