Position: SENIOR AUDITOR (CLASS CODE 0427)

Job Summary

Responsible professional and supervisory auditing work, planning, coordinating, and supervising the activities of audit teams in the performance of their assignments; and related work as required.

Qualifications

Permanent or probationary status as an Auditor and one (1) year of experience in that classification, or possession of a current Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certificate in Louisiana may substitute for the one (1) year of required experience.

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university, or a bachelor's degree in another field with at least twenty‑four (24) semester hours of accounting from an accredited college or university (credit only for semester hours listed on the transcript).

Two years of professional experience performing financial audits.

Prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify all credentials claimed by the applicant. Selected candidates must provide original documents of their qualifying credentials to the hiring agency before their start date.

Good moral character is required of all applicants. Any applicant may be disqualified if his or her character or past employment record is found to be unsatisfactory as determined by the Department of City Civil Service. Forgery, misrepresentation of facts, or cheating on examinations is punishable by disqualification, fine, and other penalties.

Background checks will be conducted as required, and criminal history will not automatically disqualify a candidate.
