Our accounting department plays an important role in keeping both of our dealerships running smoothly, and we are looking for an organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join us.
This is an on-site position based in Hudson, Iowa, responsible for processing and managing accounts payable for both Bill Colwell Ford and Colwell Motors of Mason City. You’ll help ensure vendor invoices are entered accurately, payments are processed on time, and records are maintained with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

Responsibilities Accounts Payable – Both Dealerships- Enter vendor invoices accurately for both dealership locations
- Code invoices to the correct general ledger accounts and departments
- Verify invoices for approvals, accuracy, and supporting documentation
- Maintain organized accounts payable files and records
- Prepare and process check runs
- Assist with ACH/EFT payments as assigned
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain payment records for audit purposes
- Communicate with vendors regarding invoices, balances, and payments
- Assist with company credit card reconciliation and posting
- Order office supplies and process related invoices
- Support month-end close related to payables
- Perform additional accounting and office duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1–3 years of accounts payable or accounting experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic understanding of general ledger accounting
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Positive attitude and team-first mindset
- Automotive dealership experience is a plus, but not required
