Staff Accountant

Overview

A large privately held company is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its corporate accounting team. This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to build solid general ledger, financial reporting, and fixed asset accounting experience while working under an experienced financial leadership team with a public accounting background.

• Prepare monthly journal entries and supporting documentation.
• Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Support the preparation of internal financial statements and management reporting.
• Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and related schedules.
• Assist with account analysis, variance explanations, and supporting schedules.
• Work with accounting and finance leadership to ensure accuracy of financial reporting.
• Support audit requests by preparing schedules and gathering documentation.
• Assist with process improvements, documentation, and strengthening accounting procedures.
• Partner with other departments to research transactions and resolve accounting questions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• Public accounting, corporate accounting, internship, or staff-level accounting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of debits, credits, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to work with accounting systems.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
• Professional communication style and willingness to learn in a team-oriented environment.
