Accounts Receivable Manager

The Accounts Receivable Manager will oversee the Company's incoming payments, manage the collections process, and ensure timely cash flow. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding or desire to learn Accounts Receivable, passionate about supporting our Customers, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role is hands‑on and requires strong leadership, organization, and process improvement skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are key to success in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Customer Payment Setup (ACH & Portals)

• Set up and manage customer payment portals for ACH, wire, credit card, or other electronic payment methods
• Work directly with customers to onboard ACH and electronic payment options
• Ensure customer payment information is accurate, secure, and up to date
• Coordinate with internal teams and banking partners on portal access and functionality
• Promote electronic payment options to improve collection speed and cash flow
• Cash Receipts & Bank Deposits
• Receive, log, and deposit customer checks in a timely manner
• Monitor incoming ACH and electronic payments
• Ensure deposits are properly supported and recorded
• Cash Application & Accounting System Entry
• Enter and apply cash receipts in the accounting system
• Apply payments correctly to invoices, retainage, and credits
• Process offsets, adjustments, and corrections as required
• Maintain accurate AR aging and customer balances
• Reconcile AR subledger to the general ledger
• Review aging reports and identify past-due or at‑risk accounts
• Provide management with updates on collections, expected cash, and problem accounts
• Support month‑end close and audit requests related to AR
• Process Improvement & Compliance
• Maintain organized documentation for billing, collections, and payment setup
• Develop and enforce standardized AR and collections procedures
• Identify opportunities to improve billing accuracy and speed of collections
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies

IDEAL EXPERIENCE &

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, preferably in the construction industry with 2+ years of managing a team of individuals.
• Ability to work independently with a proactive approach to resolve issues and improve AR processes with Internal Controls.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.
• Proficiency in Accounting software (Vista, SAP, Net Suite, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of construction industry‑specific Accounting practices and terminology is highly beneficial.
• Certification in Accounts Receivable or bookkeeping (e.g., AAP) can be an advantage.
