Location: New Orleans

$16.00 - $19.00 per hour, based on experience, plus performance-based incentives.

Work Schedule

Part‑time (29 hrs per week). Monday through Thursday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM & Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Potential to grow to full time. This is an in‑office role.

As a recognized builder in the region, we’re expanding our team and looking for an Accounting & Office Assistant who plays a key support role for both the Accounting team and the overall office operations.

This position is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of vendor and subcontractor invoices, maintaining organized records, and supporting the Accounting team with accounts payable and general administrative tasks. In addition, this role provides front‑office and office assistance, helping ensure a smooth, professional experience for employees, vendors, and visitors.

Major Responsibilities Accounting Support
  • Receive, review, and accurately enter vendor and subcontractor invoices into Quick Books and construction management software.
  • Match credit card transactions in Quick Books with expense reporting software to ensure correct coding to job and accounting codes.
  • Communicate with vendors to obtain missing documentation or correct invoice errors.
  • Assist with coordinating check preparation and vendor check pick‑ups.
  • Support the collection of information for audits.
  • Maintain organized physical and digital accounting and HR records.
  • Answer and route accounting‑related phone calls and emails.
  • Provide general accounting administrative support as needed.
Office support
  • Welcome visitors and serve as a first point of contact for the office.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute physical mail.
  • Ensure the office and meeting rooms are clean, organized, and presentable.
  • Support internal events and employee engagement initiatives (supplies, catering, setup).
  • Order and manage office supplies, stationery, and cleaning supplies.
  • Manage inventory for new hire welcome kits and company merchandise for clients.
Accounting leadership support
  • Assist accounting leadership with calendar coordination and meeting preparation.
  • Support basic tracking and follow‑up of action items.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and registrations for events as needed.
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge
  • Internship or 1+ year of relevant work experience.
  • Background or studies in accounting, business administration, or office management preferred.
  • Experience with Google Workspace or Microsoft Suite.
  • Familiarity with Quick Books is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to interact effectively with employees, vendors, subcontractors, and visitors.
  • Clear and professional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective time management and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Willingness to engage in continuous learning and skill development.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Employment type:

    Part‑time position (29 hrs).
  • Compensation: $16.00 – $19.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, plus performance‑based incentives.
