The incumbent serves as a District Safety Officer and is responsible for safety‑related investigations, reports, and activities prepared for or conducted by District staff. As a Safety Specialist, Caltrans, the incumbent will become proficient in required competencies to successfully perform essential functions while promoting the Department's Mission, Vision, Values, Strategic Imperatives and Goals.
Working ConditionsPosition is located at 1656 Union St, Eureka, CA 95501.
The employee will work in a climate‑controlled office and may be required to travel to maintenance stations, construction sites, and incident locations. Telework may be available at the department's discretion. Business travel may be required.
Minimum RequirementsEligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Safety Specialist, Caltrans exam. Candidates must be on the state examination list or otherwise eligible as outlined in the posting. Minimum qualifications must be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. Applicants must provide required documentation such as transcripts, diplomas, degrees, licenses, or certificates if based on education.
