Position: GME Program Administrator I
Location: New Orleans

Overview

In coordination with the Program Directors and the GME Office, the GME Program Administrator I for the Hematology and Oncology Fellowship is responsible for supporting between 1 and 15 trainees. They oversee compliance with ACGME specialty program requirements, including documentation of trainee progress, reporting, and audits. They manage Recruitment and Hiring Logistics including Credentialing, Orientation, Graduation, Websites, etc. They plan and staff recurring meetings to include Program Evaluation Committee, Clinical Competency Committee, Self-Study, Wellness.

They are responsible for reimbursements, budgeting support, and program reporting. The Administrator I must be able to work independently, with strong follow through and attention to detail.

GME Administrator I will report to the Program Directors and Dept/Section Administrator, with a dotted line to SOM GME Administration. Department Specific Duties:
Support the Program Directors.

Responsibilities
  • Support 1 to 15 trainees with compliance to ACGME specialty program requirements.
  • Document trainee progress, prepare reports, and support audits.
  • Coordinate Recruitment and Hiring Logistics including Credentialing, Orientation, Graduation, and maintaining Websites.
  • Plan and staff recurring committees and meetings (Program Evaluation Committee, Clinical Competency Committee, Self-Study, Wellness).
  • Handle reimbursements and provide budgeting support; generate program reports.
  • Work independently with strong follow-through and attention to detail.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Related coordination/administrative experience
  • Proficient computer skills with Word and Excel
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments and work independently
  • Strong interpersonal and professional interaction skills with students, staff, faculty, and administrators
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and discretion in duties
  • Knowledge of website management software
Required Education And/or Experience
  • High School or Equivalency
  • 2 years administrative coordination
