The Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Council (GCERC) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Data Analyst to provide technical and administrative support to the Programs Supervisor and Director of Ecosystem Restoration Programs. This role is critical in supporting the day-to-day management of RESTORE Act funding for large-scale ecosystem restoration projects across the Gulf Coast.
The Data Analyst will focus on data entry and records management, support for the COAST SharePoint site, development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), logistical coordination, document preparation, and tracking of programmatic activities.
Key Responsibilities
Data Entry & Records Management
- Support data entry and records management activities, including development and preparation of datasets for incorporation into the COAST SharePoint site.
- Perform quality control checks on data being incorporated.
- Work with the Records Management contractor and program staff to identify, sort, and resolve records management issues.
- Maintain a Records Management tracking spreadsheet to monitor progress against requirements.
- Track completion of Field Site Visits and Field Site Visit Observation Forms; send reminders to program staff as needed.
- Organize program staff documentation and support development/revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Provide logistical support during staff calls: take detailed notes, format, and distribute professional meeting summaries.
- Track staff assignments and document development schedules.
- Draft, format, and finalize programmatic documents, presentations, figures, and graphics using Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Prepare bi-weekly status reports on tasks, initiatives, and project plans.
- Participate in bi-weekly meetings with the GCERC Director of Ecosystem Restoration Programs to review status, identify action items, and track resolutions.
- Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Data or Information Management, Business Administration, Data Science, Library Science, or a closely related field.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Presentations).
- Demonstrated experience in data entry, records management, SharePoint or similar collaboration platforms, and data quality control.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to coordinate with geographically dispersed teams.
- Must be capable of successfully passing a federal background check.
- Experience with SharePoint site administration, metadata management, or records management systems (e.g., HPTrim, NARA-compliant processes).
- Familiarity with Federal Records Act, NARA policies, or CUI handling.
- Prior federal or government contracting experience.
