Administrative Assistant 3
Provides advanced administrative and secretarial support to a professional, supervisor, or manager. Responsibilities may include highly skilled keyboarding, transcription, and document preparation. Employees perform duties with a high level of independence and exercise sound judgment when handling non-routine situations.

Two years of experience in administrative services.
Experience substitution:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.
- Responds to requests for information and interprets departmental rules and regulations.
- Composes and types correspondence for supervisory signature.
- Compiles reports using information from various documents and electronic files.
- Organizes and maintains confidential files and reference materials.
- Prepares meeting materials including agenda, handouts, and binders.
- Assists with administrative tasks such as payroll, preparation, travel reports, and supply orders.
- Types correspondence, reports, and records from drafts or dictation.
- Attends meetings and records or transcribes minutes.
- Proofreads documents for accuracy in spelling, grammar, and format.
- Maintains electronic filing systems and retrieves data to create reports and documents.
