Job DescriptionTitle: Secretary III
Position Type: Full‑Time
Job Goal: To perform assigned duties efficiently, providing administrative and clerical assistance to Supervisors in a manner that will facilitate the smooth functioning of the office and its program.
Reports To: Superintendent, Supervisors
Supervises: None
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrate competence with computer application skills
- Additional criteria as the Board may establish.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Receptionist to central office
- Assist visitors and central office employees with various requests
- Answer incoming phone calls and direct to proper personnel
- Coordinate communication between central office supervisory staff and schools
- Administrative assistant and typist for supervisors
- Type and submit all correspondence and reports as needed
- Type correspondence assigned by the superintendent/supervisors
- Type forms and assist in the compilation of data for necessary reports
- Type and submit necessary communication between central office and schools
- Coordinate, compile, and submit annual school report for all schools
- Type and submit textbook orders
- Collect data, compile, print and bind annual system calendar activities
- Assist with formulation of parish school calendar
- Maintain accurately all essential records for which responsible
- Keep abreast of new requirements affecting area of responsibility
- Perform any other duties by the proper authority
- Conform to the regular time schedule for arriving and leaving the office
- He/she shall be on the job at all times except in case of personal emergency, sickness, or as released for office‑related business by the superintendent and/or supervisors. In the event that he/she has to be absent, the superintendent shall be notified in a timely manner.
Terms of Employment: 12 months
Evaluations: Performance in this position will be evaluated at least once annually in accordance with Board Policy.
