Administrative Coordinator 2
This position functions as an Administrative Coordinator 2 in District 02 Radio and Telephone Operations section. Incumbent must be self-motivated and be able to perform duties independently with little to no supervision on a regular basis. The incumbent is also expected to exercise a high degree of independent judgement and initiative in determining the approach/action to take in non-routine situations that may arise.
This position must possess extensive knowledge of DOTD work activity codes and the roadway system to accurately process, report, and document all activities accomplished. Participates in DOTD structured training programs as appropriate and attend all continuing education classes and conferences deemed necessary to facilitate the performance of required tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:
- One year of experience in administrative services. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for six months of the required experience.
Job Duties:
- Receives and responds to incoming complaints from the public, legislators, police, fire station, and bridge tenders using established guidelines.
- After regular business hours, based on type of complaint received, work crews call out to correct the reported problems if critical to the public safety.
- Refer calls that are not for DOTD
- District 02 to the appropriate agency. - Takes and relays messages for all departments in the District.
- Creates radio logs by documenting each transmission received or initiated on the State radio, including information related to marine traffic, calls for help from stranded marine vessels, malfunctioning traffic signals, DOTD work crews that need assistance, and any messages to or from DOTD employees who do not have telephone access.
