Overview
Clerical Administrative Assistant - Full Time, Entry-Level in the Legal/Administrative department. CGS is seeking a Clerical Administrative Assistant to support the legal mission of a large federal agency in New Orleans, LA. The role involves providing administrative support tasks such as entering information into databases, greeting visitors, opening new cases, generating reports, and assisting collection agents with other duties as needed.

Job Duties- Provide support to various office personnel in the MPRU.
- Enter information into various databases.
- Open cases, including establishing new debts in CDCS and the FLU collection database.
- Close expired or fully paid debts.
- Generate routine reports through Analytics and the FLU reporting database, such as Weekly and Monthly Collection Reports, Statistical Reports, Tickle/Task Reports, and Indirect Payment Reports.
- Generate routine documents, including but not limited to:
Demand Letters, Letters requesting Financial Statements and Proposed Re-Payment Agreements, Default Letters. - Assist and support Collection Agents, Paralegal Specialists, and Supervisory Paralegal Specialist in the collection of debts in criminal cases (including restitution and fines) and civil cases.
- Assist Collection Agents, Paralegal Specialists, and Supervisory Paralegal Specialist with asset investigations and enforcement to recover restitution owed to crime victims and agencies by running various reports and researching.
- Provide routine administrative duties to assist and support Collection Agents, Paralegal Specialists, and Supervisory Paralegal Specialist as needed.
- Computer
Skills:
Ability to use MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Access, and other databases, as well as Adobe Acrobat Professional. - Communication skills are essential; ability to work professionally with all levels of staff.
- Ability to meet established deadlines and work as a team player in a professional office.
- Skill in meeting and dealing with people in a courteous and tactful manner.
- Ability to review a wide variety of documents, both legal and non-legal (including Motions and Briefs).
- Must be a United States Citizen and eligible for a security clearance.
