Marion and Mahaska County Farm Bureau Outreach Coordinator
The Outreach Coordinator will work closely with the Regional Manager, County Farm Bureau Board of Directors and serve the 1,300+ Members of Farm Bureau in Marion County and 1700+ members in Mahaska County. They will also implement marketing strategies, manage social media accounts, and develop promotional programs with the guidance of the Board of Directors and supervision of the Regional Manager.
This individual will also assist with the Agriculture in the Classroom program in all area schools when needed. Office hours in each county will need to be established as agreed upon. The ideal candidate has passion for agriculture and creative mind to cultivate outreach programs.
- Coordinate Ag in the Classroom opportunities within county school districts by assisting the current Ag in the Classroom coordinator.
- Work and communicate with the Regional Manager, Committee Chairs, Executive Officers and Board of Directors as needed on projects or county business.
- Enhance the social media presence of the County Farm Bureau
- Manage weekly content and write articles for the Mahaska and Marion County Farm Bureau pages of the Iowa Farm Bureau Spokesman
- Prepare documents and materials for the county Board of Directors monthly meetings. Examples include timely meeting notices, meeting minutes preparation, preparing details for discussion topics, preparing agenda items, preparing refreshments and follow-up on details following the meeting.
- Membership database update and data mining
- Collect and process memberships generated by volunteers or agents.
- Establish and maintain an organized office filing system for current records. Manage office records and files according to the file retention policy. Maintain an organized system of historical records and audit materials.
- Serve as a liaison between the Regional Manager and the Board of Directors.
- Attend County Supervisor meetings and other organization meetings in the county as needed.
- Plan and organize events as requested by the Board of Directors and Regional Manager
- Office phone coverage as needed.
- Maintaining professional image of workspace and office.
- Other duties as assigned.
