Location: New Orleans, LA 70087
Pay: $26.00–$30.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Training: Company-Paid Training & Travel
Position OverviewOur client is seeking an Automotive Service Technician to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair adaptive automotive equipment for customers with mobility needs.
You’ll work with equipment such as wheelchair lifts, restraint systems, hand controls, driving aids, and automotive electrical systems
. This is a hands-on role where your work directly helps customers maintain their independence and safely stay on the road.
- Diagnose, repair, and install automotive mobility and adaptive equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical vehicle systems.
- Install and service wheelchair lifts, restraint systems, hand controls, and other driving aids.
- Inspect and test vehicles to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with NMEDA standards.
- Complete test drives and vehicle evaluations following repairs or installations.
- Accurately document repairs, installations, and completed services.
- Communicate with customers and coworkers to confirm service needs and repair requirements.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace and tool area.
- Assist with customer vehicle pickup/drop-off and transportation of parts or supplies when needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous automotive repair experience strongly preferred.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to safely diagnose, repair, install, and test automotive equipment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to safely operate customer vehicles for diagnostics and test drives.
- Willingness to participate in company-provided technical training.
- Ability to respond to occasional after-hours service calls when needed.
- Automotive electrical systems.
- Mobility or adaptive automotive equipment.
- Quality-checking other technicians' completed work.
- Training or mentoring apprentice-level technicians.
- Comprehensive training provided at your home location.
- Additional technical training available at company and vendor facilities.
- Required training time, travel, and related expenses are company-paid.
