Materials Control Lead

Job Summary

Ensure the accurate planning, tracking, storage, preservation, and timely turnover of all project materials and equipment from procurement through construction to commissioning. Manage the spare parts warehouse and MRO inventory operations including stocking levels and security controls of materials held in inventory. Lead the Material Control staff and build a high-performance organization supporting the Blue Point project.

• Assist in creating a collaborative material control culture with appropriate support within the organization.
• Lead development and maintenance of ongoing efficiencies in the material control function.
• Interface with Procurement, Engineering, Construction and EPF Contractor teams to monitor long‑lead materials and identify potential shortages.
• Oversee receipt of material and equipment at warehouse and laydown yards, verify against Purchase Orders, packing lists and MTO.
• Coordinate receipt inspections with discipline Engineers and QHSES and facilitate NCR process for damaged or incorrect items.
• Manage warehouse and laydown yard operations in compliance with Blue Point procedures, including daily supervision of staff, scheduling, training, safety meetings, and work priorities.
• Maintain warehouse housekeeping and yard condition; handle MRO items, placement, and disposal of obsolete inventory per CF policies.
• Track and tag bulk and tagged equipment; coordinate issuance of material and equipment from warehouse/laydown yards to construction contractors, ensuring right material, location, and timing.
• Communicate material control policies, practices, and process improvements to all affected personnel.
• Document MRO item activity with transactions (issues, receipts, counts, adjustments) and schedule/monitor cycle counts, investigating shortages and overages.
• Ensure monthly progress on key performance indicators (KPI) metrics.

• BS/BA in supply chain, business administration or related field (MBA a plus).
• Five years of related professional experience in supervising people.
• Experience with multi‑billion‑dollar EPC brownfield or greenfield projects preferred.
• Knowledge of material control practices and internal control objectives.
• Experience with procurement practices such as bid development, negotiation and contracting a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, SAP ECC/S4
  
  Hana and/or Ariba/Coupa a plus.
• Comfortable working in ambiguity in a fast‑paced project environment; works under schedule pressure.
• Strong collaboration across site functions and with suppliers.
• Proactive written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Influence and persuasion skills with subordinates.
• Knowledge of the functional discipline to troubleshoot routine challenges or problems.
• Works within established procedures to analyze and solve routine challenges specific to job and function.
